The rodeo event itself takes place each afternoon, with male and female competitors alike, showing off their skills in barrel racing, bareback riding and tie-down roping. Spot the Dinosaurs

The area around Drumheller is known as the Canadian Badlands and has some great walks, including the Hoodoos Trail. The Cactus Coulee Fun Park is not too far away and offers karting and mini-golf.

There are literally hundreds of fun activities to be found in Alberta, both indoors and out, and any itinerary really needs to cover at least five days to see all the highlights. Calgary is the ideal starting point to discover the downtown area, the Calgary Tower and the Glewbow Museum. Two days should be enough before moving on to Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise.
